In the coming weeks you'll start to see more of these around. This is Blogtopia, a blogger networking event that's the brainchild of Derrick L. Briggs in association with moi. More details to come, but I can tell you that we are currently reaching out to bloggers asking for their participation. And of course we need you the readers to come out as well. After all, what is a blog without the readers?
More and more blogs are becoming a part of our everyday reading and thus our everyday lives. Blogtopia is a chance to put faces to those words, thoughts and opinions we view each day, a day to take blogs away the computer screen and have them come to life right before our eyes. It will also be a chance for everyone in the community to come out and mix and mingle, so bring your business cards.

Good luck w/this - I know you guys in NYC seem to be able to do this quite well (i enjoyed my time meeting bloggers when I lived in Jersey City). Problem is...bloggers aren't consistent - out of the 25 hot bloggers that existed back then...maybe 10 are still blogging today (me included and I've moved to Chicago). So, anyway, good luck w/this.
I think this could be great. And I do agree with Darius. However, this could be a great opportunity for the others to step up their game and rise to prominence. And New Yorkers will definetly come out. No one does it better than us.
